We're More than a Day Spa, When They Come Back - We Give Back

Donations expanded in 2007 to show our tangible appreciation of our active duty military with new treatments; helping those with massive burn injury and the challenges they face.  These new therapies (accelerated improvements pain relief, better skin recovery, mobility and contracture improvement) led to covered care by TRICARE until a burn survivor transitions to medically disabled retirement, when for unknown reasons, continuity of care of such therapies are no longer covered. 

These treatments dramatically improve quality of life and activities of daily living – all aimed at facilitating, increasing and enhancing the body’s innate healing response.  The road to maximum burn injury recovery lasts for many years.  In response, our team of trained professionals has donated over 1,000 hours of on-going care to those in need – but it’s still not nearly enough; dozens of survivors yet in San Antonio, hope one day to return for these treatments. 

Many of the medically retired burn survivors have made San Antonio home due to proximity to SAMMC (formerly BAMC) for on-going burn recovery surgeries and other rehabilitative therapies.  Our only goal is that one day; these treatments will be available to burn survivors around the world -- simply to help burn survivors get better, sooner.
